A Habit Tracker App Born From My Own Needs
My 6-habit framework evolved from journaling to a custom app that brings balance and automation to daily life. It’s changed mine — and now I’m sharing it with you.
It all started in my journal. I was tracking my daily habits, aiming to build streaks. At that time, I was in control of my own schedule — and needed discipline to stay grounded and aligned with my goals in life and business. This system kept me orbiting a central axis I now call life. That “axis” eventually gave the name to the app I built: fwt. axis.

The Core: Health, Wealth, and Relationships
The original version of this framework was based on just three habits — each representing a core area of human life:
MOVE (Health)
PLAY (Work/Wealth)
BOND (Relationships)
Tick all three in a day? That’s a streak. Simple, satisfying, and powerful. But over time, I realized I needed more.
Evolving the Framework: 6 Essential Habits
I eventually added three more:
RISE – Wake up before a time I define.
FROG – Do the hardest task first (a nod to “Eat That Frog”).
NEXT – Reflect on the day in my journal.
This six-habit system became the backbone of my personal operating system. Especially NEXT, which anchors my journaling practice. Each night I review my day, rate my mood, reflect on what I wrote, and plan tomorrow — including picking my next FROG.
The Problem with Manual Tracking
Eventually, manual tracking got tedious. I wanted to automate what I could. So I built fwt. axis — a habit tracking app for iOS and Android that automates where possible, while preserving the reflection and self-awareness I value.
Introducing: fwt. axis
This app tracks and visualizes your streaks, automates where it can, and keeps you grounded.
Here’s how automation works:
RISE: Integrates with Health data to detect wake-up time (e.g., from your smartwatch).
MOVE: Automatically marked complete based on exercise, steps, or calories — all configurable.
PLAY: Linked with time-tracking software to log focused work time.
The rest — FROG, BOND, and NEXT — are manual, by design. NEXT, for example, triggers a mindful session, asks for your mood, and logs it to your Health platform.
It may sound like a small thing, but after doing this manually for 2 years, having a tool like this is a game-changer. It solves my own problem and helps me zoom out — to see life from a bird’s-eye view.
If you’d like to try the app, let me know in the comments. It’s still in beta, but already helping me stay aligned and balanced.
